US-Based Dustin Paul is about to launch his solo career after previously leading the band ‘The New Velvet’ to millions of views on Youtube. Having just won two prestigious songwriting competitions, his debut single will be the infectious feelgood pop track ‘Good Day To Be Alive’, accompanied by an equally eye-catching video.
With an early focus on sync, the song has just been snapped up to be the title track to a forthcoming US movie, following in the footsteps of two of his other tracks (‘Lucky Day’ & ‘Beautiful Life’) which have this year featured in several major US TV shows including the Emmy Award Winning ‘A&E Born This Way’, MTV’s ‘Teen Mom’, MLB’s ‘Play Ball’ and an international shoe commercial for Sperry.
Dustin has already enjoyed radio chart success on two collaborations with Portuguese EDM producer-DJs Diego Miranda and Michael Teixeira in the past 12 months. The first track, ‘I Keep Coming’, won an International Music Award in Portugal in 2016 and more recently the follow-up release Shiver enjoyed major airplay on the nationwide RFM station, proving Dustin’s vocal versatility as well as his song-writing credentials.
Currently Dustin is busy writing and demo-ing new material including a stunning collaboration with double Grammy-winning Nashville writer Chuck Butler as well as a duet with US rapper Wes the Writer for his forthcoming album expected for release later this year. US booking agent Jon Pleeter at ICM Concerts (Mary J Blige, Kelly Rowland, Brandy a.o.) has also come aboard for live representation.
